Halloween 2012

Dear V,
I realized that I wrote about Halloween 2011, but didn't write about Halloween 2012. This time you were a ladybug! Why? You might ask. Well when mommy went to Costco, they were selling costumes for a bargain! I had picked out a pumpkin because by the time your sister would be born she'd wear the pumpkin onesie and it would be cute if you guys matched. However, mommy kept looking at the costume and thought that I should just let you pick what you wanted. At first you picked an elephant but they didn't have your size so your second choice was a ladybug. We went to Play Your Way a few days before Halloween. That was your first Halloween party! It was fun. Its an indoor playplace and they had music and kids your age and face painting and pizza. You had a great time. Then Hurricane Sandy came along and shook our apartment and we were a little scared. The power had gone out for 4 days and it was cold. Good thing your godfather had a generator and we stayed at his house during the day for 2 days until we got our power back. Governor Christie postponed Halloween. So when it was time for trick-or-treating we went around town and we also went trunk-or-treating with Nathan,Noah and Aaron. You had a lot of candy. You and daddy ate it all (not in one day though lol).

A few changes

Dear V,
It's Martin Luther King Day and it's also the inauguration of President Barack Obama for the second time. There are so many people saying that America is going to change and not likely for the better, because he seems so liberal. But anyway, why am I speaking about this? Well since the last time I've written, I've changed my way of thinking in some aspects. Partially due to your stomach issues (that occurred the day after Thanksgiving until sometime in December). Also when your sister got her 3 vaccines in 1 at 2 months she acted strange and that worried me too. Between trying to find out what could have caused your stomach pains and your sister's strange behavior and sudden allergy to dairy/soy, I was on a mission to be a better mother and a home doctor. I also found a doctor who has my point of views as well. So far, mommy is very happy with that and the knowledge I've acquired in the search for a healthier life for my little girls. Some people have laughed or criticized mommy for making a few changes, but until they truly know the meaning/feeling of being a parent then they will understand and respect mommy for being my babies' carer. Now in February we'll go test you to see if you have a sensitivity to gluten.
Moving on, Baby Jesus got a life size kitchen for you and a few other things. Christmas 2012 was the first Christmas Daddy and I decided to buy a real tree (normally we only put up the presepio, not sure if I spelled that right). You helped Daddy decorate it very nicely. This picture is missing the beautiful star Gaby let us borrow. As usual, we spent New Years with the community and your godfather's house. That was the holidays. Mommy found a nice breakfast place called the Rutherford Pancake House which features diverse menu options such as: vegan, gluten-free, and other "regular" foods. I really like that this place offers almond milk, because I've never heard of any other place that does. Mommy wanted to add these two pictures at the bottom, of you, to just show you how much you love going on the 50 cent rides. Every time we go into a store that has these rides mommy tries to come prepared with two quarters so you can ride the car or dinosaur or whatever it is.

Your 2nd Birthday

Dear V,
So let me tell you about your 2nd Birthday. Mom wasn't sure whether we should've done something like your 1st birthday or something different. I decided to give you a 3 Day Bash! Let me tell you that you loved it!
So first on Thursday, June 28th, you, me, and dad went to the circus in Cranford. It was a small circus and at first you were a little skeptical. Of course, you've never been to a circus. You ended up have a good time once you noticed all the other kids clapping and having a ball! During the intermission, there were pony rides. This was the first time you rode on a pony. Dad walked beside you; holding you so you wouldn't fall. You loved riding the pony so much that even when we went back to watch the rest of the show you wanted to go back on the pony. So I walked out with you and they were gone! Good thing, because you would miss the rest of the show and I'm not sure if we had enough cash to do it again lol. Towards the end, a lady from the circus show was passing out whistles. She gave you a red one and you played it all the time. Til this day, August 28th, wow exactly 2 months later, you still have and play it.
The next day, the 29th you, me, Gaby, and Nathan went to Play Your Way in Riverdale. Its like a small indoor playground. This was probably your favorite place of all. We were there for 3 hours! They had so many things that you wanted to try everything at the same time. There was a bubble machine, a ball pit pool, rock climbing (which you didn't want to try), a large slide, toys, and other things that I'm not sure what they're called or how to explain it. Good thing I took pictures.
On your actual birthday, we just went to the park because dad was working that day and besides it was a Saturday so we had Eucharist at night. But July 1st, Sunday, we went to the New York Aquarium. We took the Choo-Choo (like you call it) and then the subway. It took us quite some time to get there. It was hot that day. We saw so many fish, and other creators of the sea. We also saw a walrus show. We sat in the front and it was fun. We bought you a pink hat. You were so exhausted; you became cranky.
Either way, you had a great time with each new experience. I enjoyed this more than your first birthday because I could tell that you were having a great time!

Love,
Mae

It's been a while, but I'm back

Dear V, it's been a while since I've written. News: you're having a baby sister! Mae and Pai have not decided what to name her yet. She's suppose to come Oct. 8th.
So last week, specifically Saturday, we were outside with Tia Nese in the backyard. And to make a long story short you dumped my phone in a water pipe! I thought it was a goner after sticking my hand in the pipe to try to rescue it. But then I said let me stick my whole arm and hopefully I can still feel it. And I did! You totally didn't care. So I just rush upstairs and tell Daddy so he can figure out what to do. We put the phone in rice and let it soak up the water and we went to the Eucharist. Daddy then reset the phone through iTunes and after a few days of drying some more and uploading all the apps then phone is back to normal. Except for the fact that some pics were gone and so was my ringtone. But all is good.
About two weeks ago Daddy was very patient with your crying and screaming. He kept saying you have to eat. You never wanted to eat dinner. Now when dad tries to feed you or tells you to eat you eat most of your food. Some people said don't force it and some, like Palmira said we had to. So we took her advice and thankfully it worked. We also took her advice on cutting your hair. She said it would grow back stronger. From the looks of it she's right. I actually had fun cutting it :) and I tried straightening it. Yes, I know your only "almost" two but its nice to do girly stuff :)
What else? Umm... For some reason you like Dora on everything and as a doll, but you reject the show every time its giving in TV.
Okay Mom has to go now I'll talk to you later ;)
Xoxo,
Mae

Another "Big Girl" Move, by You

Dear V,
Oh Dah-Boo-Pee, today you did something so "big girl," and I'm so proud of you! You came into the kitchen; I was preparing chicken for empanadas. You grabbed your plate and put it in the floor. Its funny now thinking about it. But it was the best way of showing Mommy that you wanted to eat. So I took out some left over spaghetti and meatballs. You ate maybe two spoons and then saw a Ring Pop on the table and wanted that. So you cried. Then you refused to eat. I was happy for that little moment thinking you were going to finally eat! I was wrong. Lol. I did not give you the candy, if that's what you're wondering. Instead you left your high chair with a piece of bread and walked towards the sound of Thomas the Tank Engine blowing his horn. Maybe you'll eat the empanada once I'm done making it.
XOXO,
Mommy

Surprise Hug

Dear V,
About 3 days ago I was putting you to sleep. We were on the couch, in the living room, and you just finished your milk. You reached your hands out and pull my head closer and gave me a big hug! It was so wonderful. It made mommy so happy! I gave you kisses and you gave more hugs. It was a mommy's wish come true :) Pure love! It was so cute. I love you poopy girl. I have to change your diaper. :)
XOXO,
Mommy
